Once I grew a garden with flowers as tall as trees
It brought me to my knees. 

Yes, my blooms filled my soul, 

Yet I still vibrated with dis-ease.

I traveled to far off lands
Stepping where angels want to mingle.
Footsteps of the past,
Echoing, “At last.” 

I found a new home in a foreign land

To build my treetop studio.

High up, hidden in the clouds
Transforming

The Color of Night
Nourish my weary bones.
The Color of Flight

Set my compass True North.

The Color of Light
Twinkling hue.
 

The Color of Joy
Flutter my Heart brand new.
 

Flutter My Heart, BC is my love note to British Columbia. We moved to Vancouver in January of 2024 due a work opportunity for my husband. I had never been to BC previously yet quickly, I was smitten. The diverse population is invigorating. The air pulses with exotic tongues. The Sunshine Coast is one jaw dropping surprise after another. The trail systems are keenly maintained. Nature is up close and personal - beauty to wonder in seconds flat.

All together - BC is profoundly inspiring.

I needed a new language befitting of our new life to communicate. I decided to try watercolors. I have always painted at easel but something inside me wanted to try using color in a different way. From the first stroke, I found my new expression of color - watercolors. The balance between light, color and form that I can achieve with watercolors is magical for me. I am in love again.

Flutter My Heart, BC, organically grew from the studio process of pushing color to begin speaking in a new way. The sparkling joy I am brimming with as I explore watercolors is borning in fluttery wings of butterflies and moths of BC. Messengers of Joy & Transformation. I create accessible, vibrant art and poetry for all ages and abilities. The language of beauty is for all.
